I dedicate this record to my dear friend Ronnie Stevenson who died shortly after this album was recorded. One of this countries finest drummers, Ronnie played in Newcastle with my band the Emcee Five from 1958 to 1960, moving later to London where he enjoyed an illustrious career playing for some of the greatest musicians and singers in the world. We all miss his fantastic sense of time, his incredible swing, and his ability to be equally at home in small groups or big bands. I miss him a greal deal.
